Most of us know SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is something we need to be consistently working on so our blogs can be found in search, but it often gets pushed aside because we find it confusing and time consuming. Here are my top three tools to help you take control of your seo and quickly optimize your content for search:
1. Advanced Marketing Institute Headline Analyzer – I love this tool. Of course you want to write headlines that make sense for your readers, but I highly recommend using this tool to help you determine its marketing value. You might need to play with the wording to make sure it captures the attention you want. You’re working hard to provide great content for your audience, so use this tool to make sure the headline will capture their interest and make them want to take a moment to click away from what they are doing to read your content. It’s also a good idea to keep your headline under 65 characters so it won’t get truncated in the search results.
2. *Scribe Content Marketing Plugin for WordPress – helps you write copy for your blog that your ideal visitors will find more easily in search. You can watch a video to see the plugin in action right here. Scribe makes it easy to identify topics that interest your visitors, using their language. It’s not a free plugin, and if you don’t plan to post to your blog regularly you may find the monthly fee is more than you want to spend. But, if you create regular content on your blog, Scribe is well worth the investment.
3. WordPress for SEO – is a free plugin. WordPress SEO helps you write optimized content with analysis built right into the page editor, so you can see what’s working and what can be improved right on the page as you are writing. The plugin is nowhere near as comprehensive as Scribe, but it is an effective seo plugin that is simple to use. You can find step-by-step installation instructions here. Note: You can also purchase a premium version and receive support from the plugin developers.
