It’s always fun for me to introduce you to the remarkable clients we’re blessed to serve. Jennifer S. Wilkov is no exception. In fact, her story is so inspiring, the word “remarkable” doesn’t seem quite powerful enough to describe her. Her story speaks for itself, though, so it doesn’t matter which words I choose. Once you learn more about Jennifer, what she has overcome, accomplished, and the heart behind her work, you’ll be able to easily come up with your own awe-inspired adjectives.
Jennifer is a highly sought-after speaker and presenter, best-selling author, and consultant for writers and aspiring authors. Her message, on both her personal website, JenniferSWilkov.com, and her corporate presence, YourBookIsYourHook.com is one of inspiration and encouragement. Her passion is helping others overcome obstacles and reach for their goals and dreams. She believes in people–it’s one of the many things I’ve come to love and admire about her. She wants you to know, “You Can Do It!”
Part of what is so remarkable about Jennifer is what she’s been able to overcome–and overcome beautifully. Her experience is one that would cause a lot of people (most people) to become bitter and hardened–but the opposite is true for Jennifer.
You see, she started out in the world of finance and based on some terrible advice from someone she trusted, she ended up being wrongly sentenced and incarcerated at Rikers Island for a crime she did not commit. Instead of letting this horrifying experience defeat her, Jennifer spent her time in prison helping other inmates and continuing to write.
Since her release, Jennifer has continued to thrive speaking, writing, and consulting while simultaneously working hard with lawmakers to help ensure the injustice she suffered won’t happen to others in the future. She also speaks publicly about this experience and uses it to inspire her audiences (see Jennifer’s TedX talk about this experience here).
